Kelly Zarins is a PhD Researcher and Lecturer at the International Research Centre for Interactive Storytelling (iRIS), Leeds Trinity University. She founded the collective project Our Here in 2015. The project develops creative social interactions and workshops with international women living in Leeds, UK. Together, the collective co-create short films, zines and photo-sharing projects based on their experiences of Leeds as an international city. Kelly’s research seeks to develop new discussions surrounding how imperfect, trans-disciplinary practices can be used to sustain co-creation with marginalised communities- across all stages of interactive documentary production. Other areas of research include: the depiction of workers and migrant workers in early European and contemporary East Asian cinemas, alongside comparative studies into the temporal states of still and moving images.
